Connection, Power Up, Hardware and Dash Plug programming options for Qashqai Instrument Cluster with FORZA 614
Hey everyone!
Today on the workbench we have the Nissan Qashqai 2024-2026 dashboard. It's the 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster from the facelifted J12, part number 24809-6VU3B, with a VPSASF-10849-RE label and "Made in Portugal" on the housing. This one surprised us within the first few minutes on the bench. Give it power and it wakes up without a single CAN-bus frame. Almost, anyway. There's one catch, and we'll get to it below.
We focus on the Qashqai here, but the same dashboard is also fitted to the Nissan X-Trail, Rogue and Juke. The hardware is identical, so everything in this article applies to those models as well.
Qashqai 95512 dash increase value on the bench
Why does this dash deserve its own article? From 2024, Nissan moved this cluster to an NXP i.MX processor with an external 95512 EEPROM. The Qashqai clusters before 2024 were also virtual full LCD units, but they ran on S6J processors with no external memory at all. If you've done pre-2024 Qashqais before please note this is a new board and a new workflow. Below we cover what's inside, where the mileage lives (in more than one place), how to wake the dash on the bench, and what FORZA 614 can do with it.
What's inside the Nissan Qashqai 2024-2026 dashboard: 95512 EEPROM + i.MX 8
Once you take the housing off, the board splits the work across both sides. On the connector side sits the main processor, with a small BGA package right next to it. On the opposite side you'll find a single SOIC8 chip, the 95512 EEPROM (25512), which holds the mileage and the dashboard configuration. That's the chip you care about for mileage work, so flip the board before you start looking for it.
- Main processor: MIMX8DX5AVLFZAC i.MX 8 series, runs the full LCD graphics, cluster logic and vehicle communication.
- Secondary memory: small BGA package next to the processor, most likely flash memory for the software and graphics.
- EEPROM: 95512 (SOIC8) - on the other side of the board, stores the mileage and configuration data.

LA123WF9 SL 04 - 12.3" LG Full LCD Display
The display in the Qashqai 2024-2026 dash is an LG LA123WF9-SL04, a 12.3-inch full colour LCD, manufactured in China. There's no physical needle anywhere on this dashboard - speed, revs and everything else is drawn on this one panel.
So far we haven't seen these displays fail on their own. What we have seen is how easily they get scratched or damaged. The surface is large and exposed, and it doesn't take much to mark it permanently. When a dashboard comes in for mileage work, it's worth suggesting a protective film on the screen before it goes back to the customer. It's a cheap add-on for them, and it saves everyone from a far more expensive conversation later.

Known issues on the Nissan Qashqai 2024-2026 dash
We'll keep this honest: these clusters are still young, and so far they've been working reliably. There's no "classic" failure pattern yet like the ones we know from older dashboards. There are, however, a few situations every workshop should be ready for:
- Damaged 95512 EEPROM = broken graphics. We ran a test to see how the dashboard behaves with corrupted EEPROM data. The result is clear: the graphics on the display fall apart instead of showing a clean error. If a Qashqai 2024-2026 dash comes in with a scrambled or glitched screen, check the 95512 contents before you blame the display.

- 999999 on the odometer after ABS work. Disconnecting and reconnecting the ABS module can sometimes produce unexpected results on the dashboard, including the mileage jumping to 999999. The next section explains why.

Qashqai 2024-2026 dashboard mileage is also stored in the ABS
This is the part that catches out even experienced cluster technicians on this model. The mileage in the Qashqai 2024-2026 is not stored only in the dashboard 95512 - it's also saved in the ABS module. The system keeps both values in sync, and the higher value wins.
What that means for your mileage work:
- If the car had an ABS pump replaced with a used unit from a vehicle with higher mileage, that value gets written into the dashboard. Your freshly programmed mileage is then gone.
- Simply disconnecting and reconnecting the ABS can occasionally cause strange behaviour, such as 999999 on the odometer.
Before you hand the dash back, ask whether the ABS has been touched or swapped. It's the second place where the mileage lives on this car.
Full instrument cluster wake-up
Here's the surprise we mentioned at the start. The Qashqai 2024-2026 dashboard powers up fully on the bench with just 2× +12V and 1× GND. No CAN-bus signal and no generator are needed to get the display running.
ℹ️ The catch: the small PCBs with the warning lamps at the bottom of the housing are connected to the main board with ribbon cables. These ribbons must be plugged in, or the dashboard will not power up at all. This is easy to miss when you've split the housing to reach the 95512 and then try to test the board on its own. If the dash stays dark, check the ribbons first.

With FORZA 614 the connection is plug and play using the ready-made F1 + F9 cables. CAN-bus isn't required to start the dashboard, but it's always worth checking communication. Click Read Value in FORZA 614 and you're connected diagnostically. You'll read out the identification numbers and the current mileage in a few seconds.
FORZA 614 software programming options for Nissan Qashqai 2024-2025 dashboard
FORZA 614 programs the Qashqai 2024-2025 mileage diagnostically via the dash plug. Programming through the OBD2 port in the car isn't supported, most likely because Nissan's security gateway blocks access to the cluster from OBD2. All the work happens directly at the dashboard connector.
There's one important rule: the mileage can only go up. The dashboard accepts a higher value than the one currently stored in the 95512 - this is mileage programming in the upward direction only.
The 95512 EEPROM stores the mileage and configuration of the dashboard. When you're swapping to a donor unit, the cleanest approach is to copy the full 95512 contents from the original dash to the donor. That carries over the mileage and configuration in one step.
ℹ️ Full 95512 read and write - EEPROM programmer only. There's no diagnostic option for reading or writing the full 95512 contents on this dashboard. For a complete 1:1 backup or clone you need a serial EEPROM programmer connected directly to the 95512. Our recommendation: desolder the EEPROM from the board for the time of programming. It takes a bit longer, but it's always the safer way - no interference from the rest of the board and no risk of a half-written chip.
ℹ️ What if you need a lower mileage value? Since diagnostic programming only goes up, lowering the mileage takes one extra step:
- Read the 95512 EEPROM with a programmer.
- Prepare the file with the mileage reset to 0 km and write it back.
- With the dashboard sitting at 0, use FORZA 614 to program the required mileage via the dash plug.
A tool for resetting the Qashqai 2024-2026 95512 file to 0 km is coming soon to the xeeprom.com calculator. Remember the ABS as well: if it holds a higher value, it can push it back into the dashboard.
Nissan Qashqai 2024-2026 Dashboard Pinout
In the FORZA 614 app you'll find a photo of the Nissan Qashqai 2024-2025 dashboard connected on the bench with the F1 + F9 cables. It shows exactly how the connection goes, with no guesswork and no hunting for pins. For bench power alone, remember what the dashboard needs: 2× +12V, 1× GND, and the warning lamp ribbons connected.

Why workshops take on Qashqai 2024-2026 dashboards
This is a current-generation car, and a new OEM dashboard from the dealer is priced accordingly. A workshop that can back up the 95512, handle a donor swap and program mileage offers the customer a real alternative to replacement.
The job is also well suited to mail-in repair: the dash starts on 12V alone, so you can check and program it on the bench without the car. You need an EEPROM programmer for the 95512 and FORZA 614 for the dash plug side - no CAN-bus generator and no extra boxes for waking the dashboard.
One subscription, zero token fees
FORZA 614 runs on a flat monthly subscription. There are no individual licences, no token fees and no per-car charges. You refresh the activation and work.
It keeps the upfront cost low for your workshop, and it funds continuous development: new dashboards like the Qashqai 2024-2025 are added to the menu on an ongoing basis, and you get every update as part of the plan.
FAQ
Can I program the Nissan Qashqai 2025 dashboard mileage via OBD2?
No. Mileage programming on the Qashqai 2024-2025 is done via the dash plug with the F1 + F9 cables, not through the OBD2 port in the car.
Does this also apply to the Nissan X-Trail, Rogue and Juke dashboard?
Yes. The X-Trail, Rogue and Juke use the same i.MX + 95512 dashboard as the Qashqai 2024-2026, so the EEPROM location, bench wake-up and FORZA 614 programming options are the same.
Which EEPROM stores the mileage in the Nissan Qashqai 2024-2026 dashboard?
The mileage and configuration are stored in the 95512 EEPROM in a TSSOP package, located on the opposite side of the board from the connector.
Can I lower the mileage on the Qashqai 2024-2026 dash diagnostically?
No - diagnostic programming only allows a higher value. To go lower, you reset the 95512 file to 0 km with an EEPROM programmer, then program the target mileage with FORZA 614.
Do I need a CAN-bus generator to wake up the Qashqai 2024-2026 dashboard?
No. The dash starts with 2× +12V and 1× GND, as long as the warning lamp ribbon cables are connected. CAN-bus is useful for checking communication, but it's not required to power it up.
Is the 2024-2026 dashboard the same as older Qashqai clusters?
No. Earlier Qashqai clusters up to 2024 were also virtual full LCD units, but they used S6J processors without external memory. From 2024 Nissan switched to an i.MX processor with an external 95512 EEPROM.
