2025 Ford Focus Digital Virtual Cluster (CYT3BB + 24C64)
Canbus wake-up + Pinout
for Professional Workshops
Hey everyone!
Today on the workbench, we have a brand-new platform: a 2025 Ford Focus digital virtual cluster, part number RX7T-14F094-TCA. This is Ford's newest instrument cluster generation, and the most notable change under the hood is the processor. Ford has moved to the Infineon TRAVEO CYT series. In this article we'll walk through the hardware architecture, what we're seeing so far in terms of failure scenarios, and how FORZA 614 handles bench wake-up and mileage programming on this new platform.

Hardware Architecture
Visually, this is a construction pattern that's becoming standard across newer Ford clusters: the entire front face is display, edge to edge, with no physical needles or gauge faces at all. Flip it over and the back is a solid metal plate acting as a housing and heatsink - since a fully digital cockpit display generates a lot more heat on the PCB than a traditional needle cluster, that metal backing is doing real thermal work, not just holding things together.
- Primary microcontroller: Infineon TRAVEO™ II CYT3BB7 - a 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M7 automotive MCU. This is the new CYT platform replacing the processor families used in previous Ford cluster generations.
- External EEPROM: 24C64 - mounted next to the main CYT processor, storing the VIN, mileage, and vehicle configuration data.

LS123M5LZ05A - Ford Focus Virtual Display Panel
The 2025 Ford Focus uses a single high-resolution LCD panel, part number LS123M5LZ05A, that makes up the entire driver-facing display - there's no separate needle module or secondary screen to account for, since every readout on this cluster is rendered digitally.

Failure Scenarios
This is a very new platform, so honestly - it's still early to talk about "typical" failures in the way we can for older, well-documented clusters. We don't have confirmed DTC codes tied to specific fault conditions on this model yet, and we're not going to make any up.
That said, the real-world cases we are seeing on the bench so far follow a familiar pattern:
- Clusters coming out of flooded vehicles, where water intrusion has hit the board or the EEPROM directly.
- Clusters from vehicles that caught fire, with obvious heat or harness damage.
- Occasional damage during software flashing - attempting to update the cluster to the latest firmware can, in some cases, leave the unit in a bad state.
Full Instrument Cluster Wake-Up
Like most modern fully digital clusters, simply feeding +12V and Ground to this Ford Focus module won't get you anywhere - the screen stays dark with a bit of backlight. Without active CAN-bus communication from the vehicle you cannot diagnose anything.
With FORZA 614, you don't need a separate CAN-bus signal generator on the bench. Connect the cluster through the F1 + F2 harness, hit Read Value in the software, and FORZA 614 handles the CAN wake-up sequence automatically - the LS123M5LZ05A display lights up fully, with all graphics rendering, right there on your desk.
FORZA 614 Software Programming Options for Ford Focus Dashboard
Mileage, VIN, and vehicle configuration all live together in the 24C64 EEPROM on this cluster. That matters for how you approach both calibration and donor swaps.
Diagnostically, through the F1 + F2 bench connection, FORZA 614 lets you adjust the mileage upward only - starting from 0 km or from any existing value on the odometer.
Note on EEPROM access: There's no diagnostic read or write option for the full 24C64 memory on this platform. If you need to bring the mileage down - for example, resetting to 0 km - or if you need a full 1:1 copy of the EEPROM onto a donor cluster after a flood or fire repair, you'll need a serial EEPROM programmer connected directly to the 24C64 chip. For a clean connection, we'd recommend desoldering the EEPROM from the board rather than trying to work around it in-circuit. Since VIN, mileage, and configuration all sit in the same memory, a full EEPROM copy transfers all three at once instead of trying to rebuild each field manually.
Ford Focus Dashboard Pinout
FORZA 614 includes the full Ford Focus RX7T-14F094-xxx instrument cluster pinout in the software, mapping the bench harness connections for the F1 + F2 cables so you don't have to reverse-engineer the connector yourself.

Why Workshops Are Taking On This Repair
Ford dealers will happily replace a damaged digital cluster outright - at dealer pricing, and usually with a wait. For workshops that can diagnose, bench-test, and calibrate these clusters in-house, that's a repair job you can turn around faster and at a fraction of the cost, without needing to ship the part out or invest in dealer-only tooling. As more of these all-digital Ford clusters land on donor and flood-damaged vehicles, having bench support ready for this exact platform means you're not turning work away just because it's new.
Subscription & Pricing
FORZA 614 runs on a flat-rate annual subscription - no per-car token fees, ever. Every supported protocol, CAN wake-up routine, and pinout update, including new platforms like this Ford Focus CYT3BB cluster, is unlocked automatically.
FAQ - 2025 Ford Focus Instrument Cluster
Why won't the 2025 Ford Focus digital display turn on with just 12V and Ground on the bench?
Fully digital clusters like this one need active CAN-bus wake-up frames from the vehicle gateway to boot. FORZA 614 sends these frames automatically so the display initializes fully on your workbench.
Can I reset the mileage on this cluster down to 0 km using FORZA 614?
Not diagnostically. FORZA 614 can raise the mileage upward through the F1 + F2 bench connection or OBD2 in car, but lowering it - or doing a full 1:1 EEPROM copy for a donor swap - requires a serial EEPROM programmer connected directly to the 24C64 chip.
Are there per-vehicle or per-model fees to support this Ford Focus cluster in FORZA 614?
No. FORZA 614 is a flat-rate subscription - every supported model and protocol update is included during your subscription is active.
Are there known DTC codes for this cluster?
Not yet confirmed. This is a very new platform, and we don't have documented fault codes specific to it at this point - we'll update this once more of these clusters come through workshops.
