FORZA 614 solution for 2-bytes BCM modules till around 2018

We just dropped a highly requested software update for Opel and Vauxhall vehicles. This time, we are moving away from the dashboard and focusing directly on the Body Control Module (BCM), often called the comfort module.

If you run a speedometer shop or work with car electronics, you already know how problematic these Opel modules are. This new update gives you a safe, automated solution via OBD2 to solve mileage synchronization issues when replacing a dead BCM.

Why You Need Opel BCM Mileage Adjustment in Your Shop

Opel BCM modules fail all the time due to water damage, voltage spikes, or bad solder joints. When an original BCM dies, ordering a brand-new one from the dealer is a nightmare - it can easily take several weeks for them to deliver, program and code the new module to the car. Most clients simply cannot afford to leave their car completely dead for weeks. The fastest and most obvious fix is sourcing a cheap, used donor module from a scrapyard and coding it to the car immediately.

But here is the catch: Opel stores the true mileage inside the BCM. The value you actually see on the instrument cluster display is pulled directly from the BCM module's EEPROM memory. This means that by simply swapping the BCM module, you will completely change the value shown on the dashboard screen.

To fix this and keep things legal, you have to match the BCM data to the vehicle’s actual history. FORZA 614 now lets you reprogram the odometer values in the replacement BCM both up and down directly over the OBD2 port, getting the car back on the road the same day.

Supported Eeproms & The 2-Byte Algorithm

Inside these Opel Body Control Modules, you will usually find one of three classic memory chips: 24C16, 24C32 or 95160. FORZA 614 handles them.

Right now, our software supports all Opel BCM modules that use the standard 2-byte mileage algorithm.

⚠️ Important Note: Keep in mind that for cars made after 2018, Opel switched to a newer 5-byte algorithm. This update does not support those newer modules yet. Don't worry, though - our team will work on the 5-byte system soon.
