Technical guide for Ford Mondeo dashboard, hardware spec and programming options
Ford Mondeo SPC5606 Odometer reset on the bench with FORZA 614
Following our update wave for the Ford platform, we are diving straight into another highly popular model found in workshops around the World: the Ford Mondeo dashboard.
The specific cluster on our development bench carries the factory part number KS7T-10849-AHC (manufactured in 2019). Visually, it shares a very familiar look with previous generations of Ford speedometers. The layout is clean and simple: on the left, you have the analog tachometer and engine temperature gauges; in the center, a horizontal rectangular LCD screen; and on the right, the speedometer and fuel level indicators.
If you run a specialized speedometer repair shop, here is a simple breakdown of the hardware, bench wake-up info and programming capabilities for this module.

When you open this Ford Mondeo speedometer housing, the component layout is straightforward and reliable, though component failures still occur.
The main parts on the motherboard:
- The Core Processor: System operations are handled by an SPC5606 microcontroller (our has mask 2M25V)
- Flash: Spansion FL128SAVF01
- The LCD display: The central display glass is the classic LQ042T5DZ07 panel - a very common component across many Ford platforms from this era

MCU: SPC5606
Eeprom: eepromless type
Flash: FL128SAVF01
Display: LQ042T5DZ07
How to Power Up the Ford Mondeo Cluster on the Bench
Just like other modern Ford dashboards, Ford Mondeo instrument clusters require a specific CAN-bus wake-up signal to activate on your workbench. If you just apply standard 12V power and ground wires, the board will stay completely dead and sleep mode will remain active.
To wake it up out of the car, you need a 4-wire hardware hookup: Power (+12V), Ground (GND), CAN High (CAN H) and CAN Low (CAN L).
With FORZA 614, you don’t need an expensive, standalone CAN signal generator box. The process is completely automated:
- Connect the cluster to your interface tool on the table using the pinout diagram.
- Open the FORZA 614 software on your PC and click "READ VALUE".
- Our tool instantly communicates with the board, injects the wake-up data frame, and illuminates the entire cluster for a few seconds.
This true "one-click" operation makes diagnostics incredibly fast. You can immediately see if the LCD screen works, check the backlighting system, listen for the internal warning buzzer (beeper), and verify that the onboard CAN transceiver is responding properly.

Odometer Reset & Programming for Used Cluster Adaptation
Whenever you are fixing a corrupted dashboard or adapting a cheap, used donor module to a client's car, you will need to reprogram the odometer metrics.
FORZA 614 offers an automated mileage reset function for the SPC5606 platform. This feature works flawlessly across two different execution paths: directly inside the vehicle over the factory OBD2 diagnostic port, or right on your workbench through the rear cluster connector plug.
💡 Pro Tip: If there is no option to see or read original car's genuine historical mileage, you can use a standard diagnostic scanner to check for hidden mileage backups stored inside the Engine Control Unit (ECU).
One Unlocked Subscription For Your Entire Workshop
Are you wondering how much the standalone license costs for the Ford Mondeo SPC5606 update? Nothing extra.
We don't believe in charging you for single-car software packs, separate hardware activations, or pay-per-use tokens. Every single protocol, pinout layout, and software update in the FORZA 614 ecosystem is completely unlocked under one flat subscription. You can go to pricing page to see actual price.
Let's look at the real business math: fixing just one single Ford cluster for a client easily covers the operational cost of 2 to 3 full months of your FORZA subscription. This is exactly how we are changing the car cluster repair and refurbishment industry. We deliver the hardware, software, and knowledge so speedometer shops can save their clients hundreds of dollars every day. After all, a fully functional dashboard is crucial for a safe vehicle.
